Hello and welcome to Hippy Hut Pottery.

I am Cally James and the founder of Hippy Hut Pottery Ltd.

I started life as an outdoor kind of child; I followed my Builder Dad around trying to imitate  everything he made: I had my own tool kit from a very early age and my love for making was solidified at a very young age.

My varied career has given endless opportunities to be creative, working as a Chef allowed a creative flair which led to a career in Cake decorating. My passion was always in pottery as the burning desire to try it again after O levels had never gone away. I took up Pottery with a lady who taught from her home studio, I was hooked! After several years of being a hobby potter I completed MA Fine Art I took the leap and created Cally James MA- Ceramic and Sculptural Artist.

I have now gone a step further and am the founder of Hippy Hut Pottery Ltd.  The Hippy Hut name is inspired by a summer house we built of glass and palette wood  in the garden, My daughters thought we were mad; “Mum, you are such a Hippy” and the ‘Hippy Hut’ was born. If you attend a workshop you will be lucky enough to have lunch in the Hippy Hut. 

Hippy Hut Pottery offers a line of functional ware, Pottery lessons, Pottery workshops, Pottery Parties and Corporate Pottery Events.
